In 2021, BCR Consulting LLC professionally executed a comprehensive cultural resources assessment in unincorporated Helendale, San Bernardino County, California. This assessment, conducted in partial fulfillment of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), encompassed a cultural resources records search, an intensive-level pedestrian survey, systematic shovel test pit excavations, a Sacred Lands File search through the Native American Heritage Commission, and the preparation of a Paleontological Overview. The pedestrian survey involved archaeological inventory of 100 percent of the subject property via parallel transects spaced at approximately 10 to 15-meter intervals. Throughout the assessment, digital photographic documentation was employed to record identified prehistoric and historic cultural resources. The project was successfully completed pursuant to CEQA in consultation with local Tribes.
